Money decisions are personal and often hard to reverse. This page explains how we research, write, check and update what you read on Diving Finance, so you can judge how much to trust it.

Who writes for Diving Finance

Diving Finance is run by Ashutosh Joshi. He holds a PGDM in Finance and a B.Com, and has more than eight years of experience in search and content work for clients in banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) and other sectors. Articles carry his byline unless another author is named on the page. We do not list reviewers or experts who have not actually worked on a piece.

Where our facts come from

We rely on primary sources wherever one exists:

  • Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for policy rates, circulars and banking rules
  • Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for market and mutual fund regulation
  • Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) for fund data and NAVs
  • Income Tax Department and CBDT for tax law, slabs and filing rules
  • Ministry of Finance and India Post for small savings scheme rates
  • Official bank and NBFC websites for deposit and loan rates

News reports help us spot changes, but we confirm the figure against the official source before we publish it. Sources are linked inline so you can check them yourself.

How we check facts

Before publishing, every rate, limit, date and tax figure is checked against its source. Worked examples are recalculated with code or our own calculators, and the assumptions are stated next to the result. Hypothetical people in examples are labelled as hypothetical. If we cannot verify a number, we leave it out rather than guess.

“As on” dates

Rates and rules move. Each article shows a “Last updated” date, and tables of rates show an “as on” date. Treat any figure as correct for that date only.

Updates and corrections

We review articles when a rule or rate they depend on changes, such as an RBI policy decision, a Budget or a quarterly small savings revision. When we make a material change, we update the “Last updated” date.

If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly. For errors that could change a reader’s decision, we add a short correction note at the end of the article saying what changed and when. You can report an error through our contact page. Please include the page link and the source you are relying on.

Independence

No bank, fund house, insurer or advertiser pays to choose our topics, conclusions or rankings. If a page ever includes sponsored content or affiliate links, it will be disclosed clearly on that page. Advertisers have no access to our content before it goes live.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to help with research, outlining and first drafts, and to check calculations and grammar. They are tools, not authors. A human edits every article, checks each fact and figure against primary sources, adds the judgement and opinions, and takes responsibility for what is published. We do not publish AI output without that review.

What we do not do

We do not give personalised investment advice, recommend specific stocks, or invent testimonials, client stories or credentials. For advice on your own situation, please consult a SEBI-registered investment adviser. See our Disclaimer for more.
